Protecting your personal information is extremely important to me. This Privacy Policy sets out how I use and protect your personal information. This may be subject to change in the future.
What I mean when I refer to personal information is, data I collect in order to identify an individual, for example, name, postal and email addresses, telephone numbers. Information I may hold and how I use it includes:

Who you are, where you live, how I might contact you, telephone numbers, email address, date of birth, gender, emergency contact, caregiver (where appropriate), GP’s details, medical history and details (where appropriate), fees payable (if self-funding), diary entry, attendance record for sessions, referrals to other professionals, handwritten notes taken during sessions, medical reports from referrers, copies of reports to and from other treating professionals.
Examples of how I use the data:
Organise/change appointments/classes or arrange appointments via other professionals, respond to your queries, provide follow up information, provide information about classes, events and training, take payment for services/classes, inform treatment plan, i.e. Yoga practice, ensure appropriate modifications, update on progress with other professionals/caregivers (where appropriate), contact others in an emergency, maintain historic, current and future appointment record, maintain treatment plan, share information with other treating professionals (with your permission), inform treatment plan.
The information I collect is from what you provide electronically (via our website, or email) or that which is provided by you in person or third-party referrers, such as your GP, psychologist or other therapists with whom you engage in therapy.
Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requires Data Controllers to have a lawful basis in order to hold and process personal data. In line with the GDPR my lawful basis for holding and processing personal data is “Legitimate Interest”.
Data protection laws require me to meet certain conditions and I want to reassure you that I take my responsibilities very seriously. I only share your information with other treating professionals such as your GP, psychologist or other therapists with whom you engage in therapy. I may discuss your case notes anonymously during supervision with my Yoga mentor to ensure the highest quality of care.
All data is kept securely; paper records are stored in a locked cabinet and digital records are stored securely on protected computers. I will determine the length of time I keep your personal information based on the minimum retention periods required by law or regulation. I will only keep your information after this period if there is a legitimate reason to do so. When time limits are reached, paper files are disposed of securely and digital files are permanently deleted.
